Workshops to Kick Off University City Comprehensive Plan Updates

The City of University City is preparing an update to its 2005 Comprehensive Plan. All residents and businesses in the community are invited to attend an interactive community workshop on Tuesday, May 6 or Wednesday, May 7, respectively.

The workshops are the first of several community outreach events scheduled throughout the 18- to 24- month planning process. These workshops will allow residents, property owners, business owners and operators to voice what they value most about the community and the issues they would like to see addressed. After a review of the purpose of a Comprehensive Plan and the planning process, the workshops will conclude with the opportunity to secure local views on issues within the community.

The Comprehensive Plan update will serve as the official guide for land use, physical improvement and development for University City. The revised plan will provide a foundation for decision-making based on community consensus, community vision, existing conditions and future potentials. The Plan is intended to serve as a road map for the future by guiding policy decisions and helping the community achieve its long-term objectives.
