1. 21-year-old woman seriously hurt after getting hit by car near UCM campus (fox4kc.com) — A 21-year-old Kansas City woman was seriously injured Sunday evening after being hit by a car near the University of Central Missouri campus in Warrensburg, close to the UCM Store at The Crossing. Missouri State Highway Patrol says she crossed West South Street near Washington Street when a westbound Dodge Charger struck her; she was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center.
2. Warrensburg area police reports for Aug. 18 - Star-Journal (warrensburgstarjournal.com) — Recent Warrensburg police reports detail several July arrests, including shoplifting cases, drug and paraphernalia possession, and a DWI and weapons charge tied to a traffic stop on U.S. 50. All listed suspects were booked at the Warrensburg Police Department, with one transported to the Johnson County Jail on a warrant.
3. Twenty inducted into AF Missileers Hall of Fame (minotdailynews.com) — Warrensburg resident retired Chief Master Sgt. Bobbie Watts has been inducted into the Air Force Missileers Hall of Fame, joining 19 other missile-community veterans honored at a national gathering in Minot. The event celebrated decades of service to the nuclear missile mission and updated attendees on new missile programs, veterans' health studies, and support efforts.
4. Wright receives 2026 Foster/Inglish Public Relations Prize at UCM (warrensburgstarjournal.com) — In Warrensburg, UCM web manager Geoff Wright has been honored with the 2026 Carl B. Foster/John M. Inglish Prize for Outstanding Achievement and Service in Public Relations. Colleagues praise his behind-the-scenes work improving the university website, supporting campus communications, and solving technical challenges in ways that reflect UCM's values of service and collaboration.
