13 Folds to Fold a Flag

"Why the Flag is folded 13 Times" will be the topic of the
Caroline Close Stuart Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the
American Revolution (NSDAR) at the February 15 meeting in Lake St. Louis,
Missouri. 



 



Shannon Moessinger,
Chapter member and Flag Committee Chairman will give a program on the folding
of the American flag of the founding fathers including the symbolism.  This committee is designed to promote a
strong patriotic feeling and respect for our flag.  Its principle objectives are: to keep the
flag flying, to protect it continuously under all conditions, and to educate
citizens regarding its correct usage. 
Russell Leesmann Boy Scout Master and Nate Leesmann, Boy Scout, will be
on hand to fold the American Flag as a part of the presentation.

The DAR
was founded on Oct. 11, 1890, and incorporated in 1896 by an Act of Congress.
The group's mission is to promote historic preservation, education and patriotism.
Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic
background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American
Revolution is eligible to seek membership.



Held at the Lake St.
Louis Banquet Center, 10604 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Lake St Louis, the
Chapter holds all its meetings at this location.

Interested
women who would like to attend the February meeting which begins at 10 am, must
make reservation for the lunch portion of the meeting.  For more information about the DAR or to make
