It's Terrorism, Stupid

My take on the protests on 9/11/12

So, on a date that has now become one of the most somber days of remembrance angry mobs storm American diplomatic facilities throughout the Middle East, murder 4 Americans and drag the body of one of our ambassadors through the streets.  The president flies off to a fundraiser in Vegas and surrounds himself with adoring fans screaming “We love you” reminiscent of the bobby socksers from the Beatles appearance on the Ed Sullivan show.  It’s his first photo op in the aftermath of this national humiliation.  This president who is either too lazy or arrogant to have any prepared remarks to set the appropriate tone because apparently his speech writing team couldn’t find a quiet corner on Air Force One to write something that would be fitting for this occasion. Nope, he states the obvious, “Obviously our hearts are broken…” Yep, it sure is obvious. (roll eyes) Then he goes on to compare the death of a diplomat that was lynched by these Islamic savages with the trials and tribulations of his own campaign
workers.

This president who is too busy to attend the security briefing (he’s missed over half of them since taking office) on the morning after this national debacle but does have the time to do “Letterman” and go on a hip hop radio show hosted by “The Pimp with a Limp”.  Our Marines have weapons but no live ammo but
they’re led by Lloyd Schwartz the Foreign Service officer who is armed with
stiffly worded tweets about how America deplores insensitive people who are so
insensitively insensitive.  This is the height of stupidity and incompetence.
The administration has doubled down on the narrative that these attacks
had absolutely nothing to do with the anniversary of 9-11 and are insisting
that they have everything to do with an obscure anti Muhammad video on YouTube that was released back in July, all evidence to the contrary.  The supposedly spontaneous protestors showed up at the safe house in Benghazi with RPG’s and mortars.  That’s not spontaneity, that’s an act of war that was better planned and executed than the superpower’s response to it.  By the way, how did these spontaneous protestors know that the ambassador would be at a safe house and not the consulate in Benghazi or the embassy in Tripoli? Maybe the White House press corps can take a break from such important issues as Mitt’s tax returns or his press release about this fiasco and actually ask some tough questions.  Why was ambassador Stevens allowed to continue to Libya even after the warnings?  Why security wasn’t heightened at our embassy’s on this the first
anniversary of 9-11 after the death of Bin Laden?  If it was the video and not their general hatred of America why was the mob chanting… “Obama… Obama… we’re all Osama!”? But wait, the president would actually have to take questions for a change. Fat chance.

Not only is the administration doubling down on the ‘video’ excuse for the protestors, Secretary Clinton said, “Libyans carried Chris’s body to the hospital”.  Well I guess that that’s one way of putting it.  The photographs from the Arab T.V. network al-Mayadeen tell another story.  They show Ambassador Stevens’ body being dragged through the streets while Libyans take souvenir photographs on their cell phones.  Savage Muslim barbarians cheer and pose with the ambassador’s body and take photographs from all angles.  Yep, true compassion.

We now know that sensitive papers were taken from the consulate that reveals the locations of safe house in Libya and the names of Libyans who are cooperative with the U.S... Meanwhile on a related note the local doctor who fingered Bin Laden to the Americans sits rotting in jail.  All the while our joke of a vice president swaggers around saying only Obama had the guts to make the “toughest decision anyone’s ever had to make”, while the poor guy that actually did have the guts, who actually made the tough decision in a part of the world where lesser decisions can get you beheaded sits in a jail cell because our government won’t lift a finger to help him.  And believe me, this is not a U.S. jail where a prisoner has rights.   Bernard Lewis who is a scholar of Islam said in an interview with the BBC a while back that “America risks being seen as harmless as an enemy” and “treacherous as a friend.”  That’s something that Israel is
becoming painfully aware of.  Time for David Letterman but no time for Netanyahu.

Just for a second, one little second I dare you to contrast the picture of Barack Obama on stage in Vegas and the body of ambassador Stevens being dragged through the streets of Benghazi and then tell me that we’re safer now and that Obama’s foreign policy of apology and appeasement is working.
