Cedar Lake Cellars Introduces New Wine Pouring System

St. Louis winery utilizes tool that safeguards against oxidation.

Cedar Lake Cellars, a winery and event venue, recently introduced the Coravin Wine Access System at its winery. The Coravin tool allows the pouring of a single glass of wine without compromising or wasting the entire bottle.

The process involves a thin, hollow needle being inserted into the cork in order to pour the wine while still leaving the cork intact. When the needle is removed, the Coravin system uses specially made gas capsules that reseal the cork and continue to protect the wine.

Created in July 2013, the Coravin provides the technology to access and pour wine from a bottle without pulling the cork. The tool allows for wine to be enjoyed at a later time since it was never exposed to oxygen.

“This is the perfect system for sampling more exclusive wines, and it gives us the opportunity to vastly expand our wine portfolio,” said Cedar Lake Cellars owner Carl Bolm. “Now customers can easily try our tasting bar’s finer wines before they buy them.” Bolm added that the Coravin system is “definitely an added benefit to our Elite Wine Club members who want to sample numerous products.”
