City of Wentzville Receives Aquatic Safety Award
Progress Park pool consistently exceeds industry standards.
The city of was awarded the βGold International Aquatic Safety Award.β
According to a press release, earning the award demonstrates that the aquatic facilities at consistentlyΒ exceed industry standards in risk management and epitomize aquatic safety excellence.
International Aquatic Safety Awards are conferred to deserving aquatic facilities by Jeff Ellis & Associates, Inc. - International Aquatic Safety and Risk Management Consultants.

βIt is apparent that the entire staff embodies the idea of setting the standard in aquatic safety and swimmers who frequent this aquatic facility are afforded the highest degree of swimmer protection currently available for the aquatic industry,β said Richard A. Carroll, Jeff Ellis & Associates, Inc. Senior Vice President and COO.
International Aquatic Safety Awards are presented annually to participants in E&A's Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Program (CARMP) and are based on the results of multiple random Unannounced Aquatic Facility Operational Safety Audits throughout the year. These audits include undercover video surveillance of individual lifeguards while they protect their Zone of Protection areas, in order to accurately evaluate their professional diligence.

Individual and team basic life support and rescue skills are also evaluated, along with simulated emergencies that measure the effectiveness of established Emergency Action Plans.
The audit concludes with administrative, supervisory and facility evaluations.Β
City Pool
The city's pool is located at Progress Park. Progress Park Pool opens to the public on May 28 and is open daily from noon - 7 p.m. for public swim. Β
Progress Park Pool features a 50 meter competition pool, a diving well, 100 foot water slide, a baby pool, comfortable lounge chairs, full service concession stand and locker rooms. Β
Admission to the pool is as follows:
- Resident children card holders β $2/day
- Nonresident children, 13 and younger β $3/day
- Adult resident card holder β $3/day
- Non-resident adults β $4/day
- Senior Citizens (60 and older) β $2 for residents and $3 for and non-residents. Β
Seasonal pool memberships are also available and range in price. Please call the Parks and Recreation Department at 636-332-9236 for details. Β
The pool also offers many activities throughout the year including swim lessons, aqua aerobics, junior lifeguard programs and a free resident swim on Friday, June 17 from noon - 7 p.m.
