Kid Power!

Kid Power is a weekly fitness day for children at Progress Park in Wentzville.

Local home schoolers meet each week for a fitness day called Kid Power inside 's gymnasium in .

The class meets from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. It's a chance for kids from seven years old through 18 to meet, get some physical activity and interact with their peers in a fun and energetic atmosphere.

On Tuesday, the instructor led the group of 18 children through a series of stretches, lunges, sit-ups, jumping-jacks and sprints before they engaged in a game of indoor soccer.

The cardiovascular activities emphasize team participation and are a lot of fun for the kids. The class helps to strengthen muscles and build physical endurance.

The fee is $30 for Wentzville residents and $35 for non-residents. Classes run until May 10.
