Lake Saint Louis Couple Injured in Accident in Jefferson County
The driver swerved to avoid debris in the roadway.
Cynthia K. McAvity, 61, and Peter M. McAvity, 65, were injured in a single-car accident just after noon on Saturday morning, Aug. 15 in Jefferson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Cynthia McAvity was driving the 1998 BMW on southbound Interstate 55. She swerved to avoid debris in the road about two miles south of US Highway 61. McAvity overcorrected, drove off the right-hand side of the road and struck a bluff. The car overturned several times.
Both occupants of the car suffered moderate injuries and were transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
