New Melle Community Passion Play is back for the 34th year
A must see Easter Event. This is an all-volunteer production of the last days in the life of Christ.
The players of the New Melle Community Passion Play will present the story of the last days of Christ for the 34th year starting March 21st. If you haven’t seen it yet, come see and be totally awed by this great story and cast. It is a must do Easter event.
For a non-denominational/community theater production to survive 34 years, on donations and volunteers is a testament of the level of commitment made by those who work to bring this production to the people year after year. Many have been involved from the beginning and now bring their children and grandchildren to participate. This undying commitment of present & past cast as well and the new people that have joined us this year volunteering and giving of their talent, time, evenings and weekends, they bring life and light to the fact that this is a different type of theater. Not just because it is done in the “theater in the round” style (action going on all around you) but one that touches a special place in the hearts of those who take part in it, as well as those who view it.
The play will be presented in the New Melle Sports & Recreation Center’s main building at 4700 Highway Z in New Melle. Performances are scheduled on two weekends, Saturday March 21 at 7:00 p.m., Sunday March 22 at 2:00 and 4:30 p.m. then again on Saturday March 28 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday March 29 at 2:00 and 4:30 p.m. Admission is a free will donation. Facility is wheel chair accessible. For additional information and large group reservations contact Donna at 636-634-1150 or nmpassion@gmail.com. Like us at “New Melle Community Passion Play”.
