Sansoucie Named All-Metro Swimmer of the Year

Timberland swimmer broke state records, qualified for Olympic trials.

swimmer Andrew Sansoucie was named the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's All-Metro team swimmer of the year.

The junior earlier this year, set a new state swimming record and won two individual State titles.

At the Missouri Boys Swimming and Diving Championships in November Sansoucie came away with two state titles, with a personal best time of 20.69 in the 50-yard Freestyle and a state record-breaking time of 48.14 in the 100-yard Butterfly.

He also was named Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet.

As a freshman Andrew was a second-team All-Metro selection, and as a sophomore he set the GAC record in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.30.

Last year he finished second in the Missouri State Meet in the 100 butterfly (0:50.90) and fourth in the 50 free (0:21.42).
