St. Charles County Offices Open Today for Tax Payments

Even though Dec. 31 is the deadline, county offices won't be open Saturday to take payments.

Taxpayers have until 5 p.m. today (Dec. 30) to pay their real estate and personal property taxes in person at St. Charles County government offices in St. Charles.

Otherwise payments have to be made by mail or can be made online or placed in a drop box outside the county Administration Building.

The payments in person can be made until 5 p.m. today at the County Administration Building, 201 N. Second Street, St. Charles, MO., 63301.

Mailed payments are credited as of the United States Post Office postmark date. Paying via the county’s website will be posted when the bill is paid.

The drop box is located on North Second Street in front of the County Administration Building. The contents are removed at least once a day. Make checks payable to Michelle D. McBride, St. Charles County Collector.

The County Collector's office isn't opening its offices on New Year's Eve to take last-minute payments, despite some issues with getting bills out to St. Charles County taxpayers. But there has been no waiver of the normal Dec. 31 deadline.

Payments for 2011 taxes received on or after Jan 1, 2012, are subject to late payment penalty and interest as required by state law.

To pay online, go to the St. Charles County Collector's page.Β

To find your bill, either for real estate or personal property, print your tax bill in county's Property Tax Database.
