Two Injured in Crash Saturday at I-70, Wentzville Parkway

Four vehicles were involved in crash.

Two people were injured Saturday in a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 at Wentzville Parkway.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 7:35 p.m.

A 2011 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by Cheryl A. Brooks, 51, McEwen, TN, and a 1993 Ford Probe were heading westbound on Interstate 70. The Ford, driven by Tyler R. Kunst, 19, Overland, MO, attempted to change lanes which caused the Freightliner to strike the Ford.

Kunst's Ford traveled off the left side of the road and through the median cables. The vehicle struck a metal sign before entering the eastbound lanes of I-70.

The Ford was then struck on the side by a 2001 Toyota Corolla, driven by Adele J. Carey, 63, St. Louis. A 2009 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by John H. Dwyre, 58, St. Louis, then hit the front of the Ford.

After the Freightliner struck the Ford, it traveled on the westbound median striking several cable posts.

Carey and Dwyre both sustained minor injuries. They were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital by St. Charles County Ambulance.

All four drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
