Videotaped Meetings Now on City Web Site
City council and other meetings available to watch.

After months of working out the kinks, theΒ Β is now ready for its close-up.
City meetings are now videotaped and then posted on the ο»Ώcity's websiteο»Ώ. The video does not stream live; it is time-stamped according to the agenda.
City Clerk Vi Skillman is responsible for time-stamping the tapes.Β Within the next month or so, all city meetings will be taped and posted to the website.

The city started experimenting with the tapings in December. Issues with camera movement and microphones had to be worked out before the tapes were of a quality to post.
Wentzville has tried to remain at the forefront of technology, said City Administrator Dianna Wright in December. Last August, the city won an award for best government website. ο»ΏJuggle.comο»Ώ, an encyclopedia and research site, reviewed more than 3,00o government sites. The release from Juggle noted Wentzville's "impressively rich information, useful services and excellent visual design."

Juggle also took note of four other Missouri government sites: ο»ΏChesterfieldο»Ώ, Columbia, ο»ΏMaryland Heightsο»ΏΒ and ο»ΏSt. Charlesο»Ώ.
In the her interview with Juggle, Wright said she sees a need to communicate with citizens in new ways.Β
"In the future this will mean more emphasis on local search, video, mobile devices and community information in a myriad of ways, and working with an extended network of providers," she said.ο»Ώ
