Open House for Third Wentzville High School
Event drew residents, parents to Discovery Ridge Elementary School.
The recently held an open house to allow the public to view plans for the district's planned third high school. The event was held at .Β
Parents and residents came to review the plans for the school, which is slated for opening in fall 2013.
"We've had people who are really interested in the project come out," said Chuck Dale-Derks. "They are interested in the best approach for the school."

Robin Brown, a local resident and parent of a child who will go to the new school, came out to check out the plans.
"I live on adjacent property and have three kids in the district, one of whom will be in the first freshman class here," she said. "I'm thrilled about what I see so far."

Brown said her one concern was traffic safety and making sure her children had safe ways to walk to school at the new building.
"I wanted to see how they will alleviate traffic backups and if there will be sidewalks," she said.
The district is on track to break ground this spring, according to Dale-Derks.
