WSD Names Support Staff Member of the Year

Kathy DeLaquil was named the support staff employee of the year for the . DeLaquil is a division secretary at Discovery Ridge Elementary School.

The district held its “Distinction in Performance” Awards Banquet at on May 18. There, the district’s teachers of the year, support staff employees of the year, 20- and 30-year employees and retirees were acknowledged and honored.

Performing at the awards banquet were the  choir, directed by Christina Wilson-Smith, as well as two Timberland pianists, junior Adam Marroquin and senior Ashley Lewis. 

Teacher of the Year , of , also was honored.

By the end of the evening, 64 employees were honored for their contributions to the District.
