1. Time capsule buried at old Ozarks summer camp to be opened after decades (ozarksfirst.com) — Willow Springs locals connected to the old Braddock Lakes/Hay Holler Youth Conservation Corps camp are invited to a reunion and time-capsule opening on Saturday, Oct. 24. The gathering starts at 1 p.m. in the Charles Ferguson Building on North Harris Street, with a potluck, shared memorabilia, and an optional trip to the former camp site to finally unearth decades-old memories.
   

2. SWAT standoff outside W.S. ends in arrest (howellcountynews.com) — A Willow Springs man wanted on warrants was arrested after a Sunday night SWAT standoff at a Post Oak Road residence, where deputies believed he had access to a firearm. Howell County deputies used a drone, gas, and K9 Flash to search the home before the suspect surrendered unharmed, and additional charges are expected as investigators process evidence.
   

3. Early-week crashes injure three (westplainsdailyquill.net) — Two Willow Springs residents suffered minor injuries Monday afternoon when their vehicle collided with an emergency vehicle near a commuter lot in Cabool, according to the Highway Patrol's Willow Springs-based Troop G. Both were treated at Texas County Memorial Hospital, while a separate Sunday-night deer collision in Ozark County left a West Plains woman with minor injuries.
   

4. Ozarks Notebook: A Revived Home for a Centuries-Old Square Dance (goodmenproject.com) — Willow Springs is now home to one of the Ozarks' revived monthly square dances, part of a broader comeback for this old-time tradition across Missouri and Arkansas. Local organizers and longtime teachers are drawing families, newcomers, and kids into regular dances and camps, hoping consistent gatherings will keep the music, calling, and community spirit alive for the next generation.
