Billings man dies after being ejected from truck, run over by driver coming upon scene (ktvq.com) — A 31-year-old man who recently moved to Billings has died after his pickup collided with a Billings police car on Broadwater Avenue and he was then run over by another truck that fled. Investigators are reviewing neighborhood camera footage and asking anyone who may have seen a white Dodge Ram 2500 in the area to contact Montana Highway Patrol with tips.
2. North 23rd Street Shooting Prompts SWAT Response in Billings (kmhk.com) — Billings police are investigating a Saturday shooting near North 23rd Street that left a 47‑year‑old man in critical condition and briefly prompted a SWAT activation. Officers later served a search warrant at a Monroe Street home but did not find the suspected shooter there; investigators say the case is active but there's no known ongoing threat to the public.
3. Johnny Cash's Daughter Rosanne Cash Postpones Shows After Unforeseen Medical Emergency (pulptastic.com) — If you were planning to see Rosanne Cash perform in Billings this Wednesday, that show has been postponed because of an unexpected medical emergency. The country artist is following doctors' orders to rest, and her team says the Billings, Sheridan and Bozeman dates will be rescheduled, with fans asked to watch for new announcements.
4. Montana storms unleash massive hail, flooding and widespread damage (ktvq.com) — Severe Labor Day thunderstorms pounded the Billings area with huge hail and torrential rain, flooding streets and damaging homes and vehicles. Neighborhoods in Billings, Shepherd, Huntley and Worden were hit especially hard, with hail up to 3.5 inches reported and residents already dealing with flooded basements and cleanup across central Montana.
