Today's riddle: Why did the cookie go to the hospital? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Bob Ward's Bozeman Location to Rebrand to Al's Sporting Goods (sgbonline.com) — Bozeman shoppers should know that Bob Ward's Sports & Outdoors on Max Avenue is holding liquidation sales ahead of closing in December, before remodeling and reopening as Al's Sporting Goods. The change follows the Utah company's acquisition of Bob Ward's, with the Bozeman location set to remain a large, full-line outdoor retailer even as other Montana stores have already shut down.
2. MSU students turn to off-campus resources after Stadium View lease terminations (kbzk.com) — Bozeman students living at Stadium View apartments were abruptly told some units are structurally unsafe and given just three days to move out, leaving at least one MSU junior temporarily without a bedroom. Many affected tenants are now turning to Montana State's Off-Campus Student Life office for emergency housing funds, legal help, and connections to local nonprofits offering more stable, affordable options in Bozeman.
3. Bozeman rolls out the red carpet for inaugural film festival (nbcmontana.com) — Bozeman is hosting its first full four-day Bozeman Film Festival this weekend, with 73 films and about 100 filmmakers at the Ellen, Rialto, and Tune Up venues downtown. Local residents can catch Montana-made movies, panels, Q&As, and parties while supporting historic theaters and downtown businesses; tickets and full schedules are available at bozemanfilmfestival.org or the Rialto box office.
4. Montana Farm Bureau Names New Director of Communications (mfbf.org) — Based in Bozeman, the Montana Farm Bureau has hired Logan Kruse as its new Director of Communications, strengthening outreach for farmers and ranchers statewide. A Montana State University–Bozeman graduate and former state agriculture communications officer, Kruse brings marketing experience and hands-on ranching background to support local Farm Bureaus and rural communities.
5. A 315-year-old Engelmann spruce takes the stage in Bozeman (explorebigsky.com) — Bozeman residents recently packed Willson Auditorium for the Climate Aid: Black Ram Guitar Festival, where attendees left with tree seedlings to support old-growth forest conservation. The evening blended music, storytelling, and climate-focused messages centered on a 315-year-old Engelmann spruce guitar, while organizers encouraged Bozeman-area supporters to carry the event's sense of community and environmental stewardship into their daily lives.
