• Carroll Expands Pell Promise Nationally (carroll.edu) — Helena's Carroll College is dramatically expanding its Pell Promise so qualifying Pell-eligible students from any state, including locals, can have their full tuition covered starting in fall 2027. At the same time, Carroll will slash its listed undergraduate tuition by 40% and drop general fees, aiming to make costs clearer and degrees more attainable for Helena families and transfer students.
   

• Helena tattoo shop raises funds for mental health awareness with semicolon tattoos (ktvh.com) — A Helena tattoo shop is turning semicolon tattoos into a powerful local fundraiser for suicide awareness, with all proceeds supporting NAMI during National Suicide Prevention Month. Divine Piercing and Body Art offered discounted designs while artists and customers shared personal stories, hoping to spark more open conversations about mental health and remind neighbors that help, including the 988 lifeline, is always available.
   

• Mary Jo Bevan: 1928-2026 (edmondsbeacon.com) — A woman who grew up in Helena and graduated from Helena High School has died at age 98, leaving a long legacy in nursing, community arts, and women's empowerment. Though she built much of her life in Washington, her story reflects the paths many Helena graduates take, from local classrooms to national leadership in medicine, music, and civic life.
