• Seventh Annual Montana Mathematical Modeling Challenge: Oct 17-18, 2026 (carroll.edu) — Students around Helena can now register for a 24-hour Montana Mathematical Modeling Challenge hosted at Carroll College on October 17–18, where teams tackle real-world problems using math, statistics, and computing. Space is limited, with discounted early-bird registration through October 2 and a final deadline of October 9, plus cash prizes and meals included for participants.
   

• Bulldogs and Maroons fall just short on the road (buttesports.com) — Butte High's football team, coming off a close loss at Missoula Sentinel, will head to Helena High next week looking to revive its season on the road. The story recaps key performances from both Butte High and Butte Central's narrow defeats, highlighting strong individual efforts and the teams' continued competitiveness despite tough records.
