North Benton Avenue & Flagstone Avenue

The City of Helena/Lewis and Clark County Heritage Tourism Council will be unveiling a new historic sign for the Lewis and Clark County Hospital Cemetery at noon, Wednesday, May 20, 2026. The public is invited to attend.
The Lewis and Clark County Hospital Cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. The original historic district boundary was expanded to include the Lewis and Clark County Hospital Cemetery in 2025.
The cemetery is located north of Custer Avenue on the east side of North Benton Avenue between Flagstone Avenue and Chert Place. The cemetery was originally part of the hospital from 1891-1916 and contained approximately 381 men, women and children. The cemetery is currently undeveloped City parkland and is located west of the future North Benton Trail.

FREE COMMUNITY EVENT/FUN FOR ALL!! Comedy, community, and philosophy go hand in hand — especially when comedian and philosopher Rodney Norman is on the mic! In this fun “thinky” comedy show and post-show talk-back program, get ready to laugh and ponder BIG questions about life.
Known for his hilariously unassuming, dead-pan, and delightfully disarming vulnerability, Rodney’s humor blends clean, family-friendly comedy with an infectious and uncontainable amount of joyful exuberance replete with philosophical wisdom.
To quote Mark Twain: "Laughter without a tinge of philosophy is but a sneeze of humor. Genuine humor is replete with wisdom."
Through raw and honest stories from his life that are belly-laugh inspiring and relatable to all, audiences will be invited to think about things like friendship, courage, justice, humility, happiness, love, and community. 
Post-show conversation will build on and explore some of the themes present in Rodney’s comedic work and Q &amp; A.
Free and open to the public. Doors open at 6pm. Show starts at 6:30pm, with an opening act by local comedian Kaiser Leib.
Post-show talkback with Rodney Norman to follow performance facilitated by community philosophers Marisa Diaz-Waian &amp; Mitch Conway.
Come one, come all…and join us for a fun night of community and “thinky stuff" through the lens of comedy and philosophy.
Cash bar. Free event. Donations appreciated (we’ll have some sort of donation thing set-up on site - pass the hat, drop a dollar, whatever makes sense…TBD).
