• FWP announces public comment opportunities for the week of September 14 (mt.gov) — Missoula residents have several chances this month to weigh in on river access and habitat projects close to home, including streambank stabilization at Kelly Island and Kona Bridge Fishing Access Sites and restoration work on O'Brien Creek. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is also taking comments on statewide fisheries plans, conservation easements, and rule changes on trapping, bear spray, and Bitterroot River motorized use.
   

• $250K approved for open space bond in Missoula (nbcmontana.com) — Missoula County has approved $250,000 in open space bond funding to help Five Valleys Land Trust secure 242 acres in the Blackfoot River area, protecting wildlife habitat and future public access. The land trust will now craft a management plan, keeping the area closed for six to twelve months while they balance recreation with wildlife safety.
   

• CubCloud AI applies to bring Tesla Cybercabs to Missoula (kpax.com) — A Missoula-based tech company, CubCloud AI, has applied to bring Tesla Cybercab autonomous taxis to the city, potentially changing how locals get around. The firm plans to start with six vehicles and argues the service could offer cheaper rides than traditional options, while also creating new maintenance-related jobs as self-driving technology expands across Montana.
