• UM Installs More Than 300 AI Security Cameras (weareshelby.com) — Students and staff in Missoula are now being recorded by more than 300 AI‑equipped security cameras installed across the University of Montana campus, including the Oval and residence hall common areas. UM police say the system improves emergency response and does not use facial recognition, but some students and parents are uneasy about privacy and the lack of advance notice.
   

• Missoula's Out of the Darkness walk shines a light on suicide prevention (kpax.com) — Hundreds of Missoulians packed Ogren Park at Allegiance Field on Sunday for the Out of the Darkness suicide-prevention walk, raising funds and awareness for mental health support across Montana. Participants honored loved ones, shared personal stories, and used symbolic colored beads to recognize different kinds of loss, all while pushing toward a $100,000 fundraising goal to expand prevention, education, and advocacy work.
