Commissioners Seek Applicants For Fair Event Committee, Swan Valley Community Council

The Missoula County commissioners are now accepting applications for the Fair Event Committee and Swan Valley Community Council.

The deadline to submit applications is 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31. Applications are available online.

Fair Event Committee

Seeking applicants for two three-year terms that end Sept. 30, 2021. The new three-year terms begin Oct. 1, 2021 and will run through Sept. 30, 2024. All current members are eligible for reappointment and will be given priority should they submit a letter of interest and meet the qualifications to continue serving. New applicants are encouraged to apply.

The purpose of the Fair Event Committee is to advise the Missoula Board of County Commissioners and represent the citizens of Missoula County in the planning and conducting of the annual fair event. Meetings are required; the committee meets monthly on the second Thursday at 10 a.m.

Swan Valley Community Council

Seeking applicants to fill the remainder of a vacant term that runs through May 31, 2023. At that time, if the council member wishes to continue serving, they will need to file as a candidate in the 2023 special district elections. Council members act as a liaison between the citizens of the Swan Valley area and the county commissioners, providing information deemed useful, beneficial and helpful in decisions that affect the community. Applicants must be residents of the Swan Valley community. Meetings are required; the council meets monthly on the third Tuesday at 6 p.m.
