Missoula County mailed tax bills to all property owners in the county Thursday, Oct. 28, and they are also available at www.missoulataxes.us. If you don’t pay your property taxes through your mortgage, tax payments for the first half of the year are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, and you can pay them online via a credit card, debit card or electronic check. Service fees apply when paying online by credit card or debit card. The fee for paying by electronic check has been removed for all transactions when paying online.
The Missoula County commissioners at their Thursday, Nov. 4, public meeting will consider a resolution to extend the school district and school zone speed limit on East Mullan Road to Gold Street at the Clinton Elementary School, so traffic slows down before they reach school facilities.

Health department announces parent education week for child COVID-19 vaccine
The health department is encouraging local parents and guardians to take part in a week of education leading up to the approval of vaccines for ages five and older. Make time this week to talk with your doctor or pediatrician about concerns you have, ask your pediatrician for resources to learn more, follow and share the health department's information on social media and disarm disinformation you may find. The health department plans to offer COVID-19 vaccine appointments for children ages five and older on Monday, Nov. 8, pending the CDC's approval meeting goes as anticipated.
MissoulaInfo.com revamped!
Check out the Missoula City-County Health Department’s recently revamped MissoulaInfo.com site! Visit this site to learn more about scheduling COVID-19 vaccine appointments (like getting your booster shot), getting tested, what to do if you’re a close contact, masking up, as well as where to find other resources and COVID-19 data.
Some helpful reminders:
Booster doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are currently for individuals who previously received two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least six months prior to the booster appointment and meet at least one of the booster criteria. Booster doses for the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine are appropriate for individuals who previously received one dose of the Janssen vaccine at least two months prior to the booster appointment. All booster doses must meet one of the following criteria:
- People 65 years of age or older
- Residents in long-term care settings
- People aged 18-64 with underlying medical conditions
- People aged 18-64 who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission due to their occupation or institutional setting
If you’re a close contact, make sure to follow this guidance for close contacts.

"As a long-range planner for Missoula County, I work toward big-picture goals and think about how to best create lasting value and prosperity in our communities. Most recently, my work has focused on the Missoula County Zoning Update. For this project, we are comprehensively updating our zoning code to modernize our development practices and align our regulations with current Missoula County values. My role in this project has ranged from data analyst to public outreach coordinator to document copy editor. This diversity of responsibilities keeps me on my toes and makes my day-to-day work interesting. Â
Overall, I count myself extremely lucky to be able to work and learn from the amazing team in the County planning department. Â
