(1011now.com) — Lincoln police now use cruiser-mounted license plate reader cameras on most marked cruisers, scanning millions of plates and storing non-hit data for up to 180 days. The department outlines safeguards, hotlist uses, and audit procedures, while declining interviews and some records requests, raising important questions for residents about privacy and how the technology is overseen locally.
