
Back by popular demand, the Glee Handbell Choir from Meiji Gakuin Higashimurayama High School in Tokyo, Japan will present a special concert at Lauritzen Gardens on Thursday, July 30 at 11 a.m. The concert will be held indoors in the great hall and will include a mix of classical and modern selections arranged for the handbell. The 10 member ensemble is recognized as a leading handbell choir in Japan and has been part of Meiji Gakuin since 1981.
The performance ensemble tours the United States biennially and last performed in Omaha in 2024. Their 2026 tour takes them to locations throughout the United States. In each city they visit, the choir members will present concerts, sight-see, and get acquainted with American culture via host families.
