After becoming separated from his regiment, French officer André Duvalier encounters a mysterious woman who leads him to the isolated castle of Baron von Leppe, where he uncovers ghosts, witchcraft, long-buried secrets, and a deadly curse.
Directed primarily by Roger Corman, the film stars Boris Karloff as Baron von Leppe and Jack Nicholson as André Duvalier. It is known for its eerie Gothic atmosphere and unusual production, with several directors contributing to its completion.
