Henderson Recreational Marijuana: City Council Drops Ban, Approves Plan Moving Forward
The council gave the go ahead for medical marijuana facilities to start selling recreational pot as well

Recreational marijuana is headed to Henderson. The City Council Tuesday night approved a plan allowing the city's five medical marijuana facilities to start selling recretational pot as well.
Sales could begin in October with recreational licenses costing $72,000.

Mayor Debra March, Councilwoman Gerri Schroder, and Councilman Dan Shaw voted to end the ban while Councilmen John Marz and Dan Stewart voted to keep it in place.
The council move will also allow cultivators, and testing and production facilities to start operating.

Before voting, the council heard a presentation from Jeremy Aguero of Applied Analysis who said that the city can expect to take in $1 million from fees and taxes in the next fiscal year and five million by 2021.
