Nevada State Senate Urges Obamacare Be Preserved
Measure is approved in party-line vote. It now goes to the Assembly.

In a party line vote, the state senate has approved a measure calling for Congress to keep the Affordable Care Act as the law of the land. The vote was 12-9 with all Republicans voting against.

The measure is merely advisory and doesn't have the force of law. It just "urges" Congress not to repeal the act, which Donald Trump and many Republicans had promised to do.

Their first attempt this year failed last month when a proposed replacement was pulled before a vote could be held in the House of Representatives.
While Trump at first had said the administration would move on to other issues, over the weekend he signaled there might be room for compromise.

The Nevada measure now goes to the state assembly.
