North Las Vegas Jobs: Amazon Hiring 500 For Fulfillment Center

The company is hiring for its 800,000 square-foot facility expected to open this summer.

Amazon is looking fo 500 people for its fulfillment center opening this summer in North Las Vegas. The 800,000-square foot facility is the company's second in the city. It will eventually employ 1,000 people.

Amazon says the workers will help pick, pack, and ship larger items such as kayaks, patio furniture, and televisions.

The company says that full-time employees receive hourly wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance, performance-based bonuses, 401(k) and company stock awards starting on day one.

Amazon also offers up to 20 weeks of paid leave and benefits such as Leave Share and Ramp Back, which give new parents flexibility with their growing families.

The retail giant also touts programs like Career Choice, where it pays up to 95 percent of tuition for courses related to in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a career at Amazon.

They say that since it launched, it has helped more than 9,000 employees pursue degrees in game design and visual communications, nursing, IT programming, and radiology.

The facility will be Amazon's fourth in the state. In addition to the other North Las Vegas location, there are centers in Reno and McCarran.
