The new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is wowing off-road enthusiasts, as well as FOUR WHEELER & Cars.com, who bestowed the new model with awards. See what everyone is talking about and schedule a test drive at Ford Country in the Valley Automall.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 06, 2017 ) Las Vegas, NV -- The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor was eagerly anticipated by off-roading enthusiasts--and it appears the wait was worth it.
The latest version of Ford's first true high-performance off-road pickup
with a factory warranty features a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6,
10-speed automatic transmission, a new aluminum block and direct fuel
injection that delivers 450 horsepower and 510-pounds-per-foot of
torque.
That's an improvement of 39 horses and 76-pounds-per-foot more than the 2016 version--and automotive experts have taken notice.

FOUR WHEELER recently named the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor the "Pickup of the Year."
The publication chose the Raptor after putting seven pickups to the test
during a week of testing that included nearly 1,000 miles of trails,
sand dunes, freeway driving and instrumented track testing.

According to FOUR WHEELER, the Raptor outperformed every other truck
thanks to its "formidable powertrain" and "technological, engineering
and performance excellence." Taking home the "Pickup of the Year" trophy
came on the heels of Cars.com naming the Raptor "Best Pickup Truck of 2017."
While performance matters, so does size--and both publications recognized the truck's width, ground clearance and sheer girth.
The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor has a steel frame elevated by tires that
stand nearly three-feet tall. There are 7.2 feet between its front
fenders, 11.5 inches of ground clearance and 6.5 feet between the ground
and the roof.
Neither award came as a surprise to Brad Cambridge, general manager at Ford Country in Henderson, NV., just outside of Las Vegas.
"The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is one of the most highly anticipated
vehicles I can recall," he said. "It delivers everything the F-150 has
built its reputation on--comfort, amenities and reliability--and then
some. It's like your father's truck on steroids, making it perfect for
full-time adventure seekers and weekend warriors."
While the Raptor is among the largest pickup trucks on the market,
online reviewers--including a writer for the Wall Street Journal--note
it tends to drive narrower than it is, thanks, in large part, to its
high seating, large windows, multi-mode electric assist steering system
and body control and refinement.
Cambridge says interest in the truck is hot! It starts with a base
price of $53,140. Per Cambridge, “Our dealership will continue to strive
to have them on-site and ready for test drives.”
Drivers interested in learning more about the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor or

Gibson Rd. in Henderson.
