Here are the top stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. Nevada's Department of Public Safety reports the number of traffic fatalities in Clark County and statewide continues to climb. According to the latest data collected by the Department of Public Safety, Clark County has seen a 23.5% increase in traffic fatalities year to year, with 142 deaths in 2021 making up more than half of the traffic deaths across the entire state. Law enforcement agencies became especially concerned this weekend after a total of at least six fatal crashes between Friday and Saturday morning, including four deadly accidents in Nevada Highway Patrol's jurisdiction, in just 4 hours. (News3LV)
  2. A Las Vegas vaccination site was packed this past weekend — in part, due to the $100 gift cards being distributed as rewards. The two-day effort at El Dorado High School, which drew several hundred people both days, was intended to improve Nevada's vaccination rate, which is in the lower half of all states. "We know we need people vaccinated, so whatever it takes, let's do it," said Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom. (KNPR)
  3. A fire at a Las Vegas gas station caused an estimated $3 million in damages, according to the Clark County Fire Department. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
  4. A Guatemalan man convicted of conspiring to plant a bomb in the Luxor Casino parking garage in 2007 has once again been found guilty of crimes, including murder, after a retrial in Las Vegas. (Casino.Org News)
  5. StartUpNV is offering a free bootcamp — plus an opportunity to win $200,000 — for new businesses. (News3LV)
