42nd Annual Kids Day Out Benefits Boys & Girls Clubs of So. Nevada

Oct. 14 event brings local Club youth and the community together for fun and activities.

The 42nd Annual Kids Day Out, sponsored by the Buffalo Wild Wings Foundation, brings together community partners, corporate sponsors, and youth from Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada for a day of fun. The fall event provides a unique opportunity for corporate volunteers to get more involved with Club members, ages 8-12.

Groups of caring adults are paired with Club youth to enjoy an outdoor carnival setting with food, entertainment, games and prizes at the Lied Memorial Clubhouse. Designed for fun, interactivity and learning experiences, the activities are staged at stations that coincide with Club programming covering career exposure, arts, education, sports and recreation, leadership and service, and health and wellness. Stations include: sports skills and competitions, carnival games, make your chicken wings from Buffalo Wild Wings, LEGO creations, oversized Jenga, STEM Projects, rock art, paper airplane contest, bracelet designs, bounce house, magician, BMX performance, and more. Las Vegas Metro, Fire Department, Red Rock Search & Rescue and other first responders will be in attendance to highlight their organizations and careers to the youth.

There are a variety of ways for community partners to get involved and provide financial sponsorships, activity stations, in-kind donations, and/or booth volunteers.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada is a non-profit organization with 13 Clubhouses throughout Southern Nevada. Our mission is to enable young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Focused on three main impact areas – Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles and Good Character & Leadership – Clubhouses provide a safe, supportive place to go (both physically and mentally), life-changing opportunities, and the chance for youth to learn, grow, and become who they want to be. Serving over 7,000 youth annually between the ages of 6-18, Clubs operate Monday through Friday before and after school, with extended hours over school breaks such as spring, winter, and summer break.
