Here are the top stories today in Las Vegas:
- Federal prosecutors say more charges have been added against the two men arrested in Las Vegas on allegations that they took part in the Jan. 6 insurrection this year. A new superseding indictment has charged Nathaniel DeGrave, 32, and Ronald Sandlin, 34, of conspiracy, obstruction of an official proceeding, and assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia announced Monday. They pushed past barricades and law enforcement to get into the Capitol and then pushed several U.S. Capitol Police officers once inside, with Sandlin attempting to rip a helmet off an officer, according to the indictment. They helped force open a door to get into the Senate Chamber, where Sandlin also live-streamed himself smoking marijuana. (News3LV)
- Nevada is in the throes of an epic water crisis, so much so that the Feds have issued a water shortage declaration. Many people are cutting back, but there is still a lot of water being used for a lot of different reasons. Looking at the bigger picture, the water used by all 100 top residential users in the Las Vegas Valley Water District adds up to about 270-million gallons. (KTNV Las Vegas)
