Police say the victim was crossing outside a marked crosswalk when the westbound truck struck them, and the driver stayed on scene and showed no signs of impairment as LVMPD continues its investigation.

East Las Vegas residents hope new redevelopment project brings safety, growth and community spaces (ktnv.com) β City leaders are weighing a major redevelopment plan for long-neglected parts of east Las Vegas, targeting corridors like Charleston, Owens, 21st Street and Nellis without adding new taxes. Residents hope the project will boost safety, support small businesses, and add shaded parks and community spaces as part of the city's long-term "Nuestro Futuro Este de Las Vegas" 2050 vision.

Tesla asked Las Vegas for 5,000 Robotaxi permits and it was met with a very strict response from the Nevada Transportation Authority (supercarblondie.com) β Tesla sought 5,000 robotaxi permits to operate in Las Vegas but the Nevada Transportation Authority approved only 10 vehicles, confined to a limited Strip corridor with strict rules and human supervision. Clark County officials say they are impacted despite not authorizing this type of service, signaling that large-scale autonomous fleets are far from a done deal on local roads.

Nevada Task Force 1 deployed to assist with Hawk Fire in northwest Reno (ktnv.com subscription) β Las Vegas-area firefighters, doctors, and engineers with Nevada Task Force 1 have been deployed to help search and recovery efforts at the fast-growing Hawk Fire near Reno.
