Tenants are exploring legal options, considering a petition to management, and awaiting pest control treatment this Thursday as they push for a lasting solution.
   

2. Emergency funding offers CCSD, other Nevada school districts with temporary budget relief (news3lv.com) — Emergency funding approved by Gov. Joe Lombardo is giving Clark County School District in Las Vegas short-term relief from a $52 million budget shortfall, helping protect most school jobs for the rest of the year. Monthly state payments, including an initial $13.4 million, will let CCSD reissue school budgets while leaders push for long-term fixes to Nevada's enrollment-based funding system.

4. Parents speak out after gun confiscated from student at Las Vegas elementary school (ktnv.com) — A gun was confiscated from a student at Marion B. Earl Elementary School in Las Vegas last week, with officials saying no students or staff were threatened. Parents are split over whether the Clark County School District communicated quickly and clearly enough, as the district highlights declining firearm confiscations and reminds families about the SafeVoice reporting system.
   

5. Southern Nevada inmate dies less than 2 months into sentence, officials say (reviewjournal.com) — A Southern Nevada inmate serving time for failing to register as a sex offender died at University Medical Center in Las Vegas just weeks after entering the state prison system. Officials say 49-year-old Scott Trotta had been at High Desert State Prison since mid-July, and his cause and manner of death are still under investigation by the Clark County coroner.
