Free Public Art Unveiling: Monumental New Sculpture Lands at Las Vegas Civic Center

Downtown Las Vegas is about to unveil its newest landmark — and the public is invited to be there for the moment it comes to life. The City of Las Vegas proudly presents the lighting and dedication of Harmonic Ascension, a monumental new sculpture by Cliff Garten, one of America's most celebrated public artists. A two-time National Endowment for the Arts Fellow and graduate of both RISD and Harvard's Graduate School of Design, Garten has spent decades shaping the civic spaces of cities across North America — and now, Las Vegas joins that legacy.

Conceived in the spirit of this city, Harmonic Ascension is a layered, luminous work that shifts and transforms throughout the day, culminating after dark in a breathtaking integrated LED display that feels unmistakably, beautifully Las Vegas. Installed at the heart of the new Carolyn G. Goodman Plaza — uniting City Hall, the Municipal Courthouse, and the Las Vegas Civic Center into a true civic destination — the sculpture is a gathering place that belongs to every resident of this city.

Join us for an evening of art, light, and community in the heart of downtown. The illumination ceremony begins at 5:30PM with remarks from Mayor Shelley Berkley, Councilwoman Olivia Diaz, and artist Cliff Garten himself. The celebration takes place at Carolyn G.
