Delta Flight Returns To Vegas After Engine Fire

The plane, which was headed to New York, was in the air less than one hour before returning around. No one was injured.

An engine fire forced the return of a Delta fight from McCarran International Airport early Wednesday morning. None of the passengers or crew aboard Flight 1057 to New York's Kennedy Airport were injured.

The plane had taken off around 11:30 Tuesday night. About 15 minutes into the flight, passengers noticed that an engine on the left side of the plane was on fire.

The plane radioed back to McCarran, which cleared flight paths so the plane could make an emergency return to the airport.
