Here are the top stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. A local driver is calling out Nevada's transportation department for its latest digital message.
    The Nevada Department of Transportation constantly changes its messages on highway signs to alert drivers in real-time. However, a Las Vegas woman (and others) are calling the most recent message on Interstate 15 "disturbing" after it read, "Mash potatoes, not your head. Buckle up." (KTNV Las Vegas)
  2. The city of Las Vegas announced that it is taking action to address traffic issues in downtown Las Vegas. In a news release, the city said the popularity of downtown Las Vegas is creating traffic issues, specifically, heavy traffic on Main Street and drivers who stop illegally on Main Street between Ogden and Carson avenues to drop off, pick up or wait for passengers. The city said it has created a task force of representatives from several city departments and is working to implement solutions. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
  3. Las Vegas police arrested a 47-year-old woman accused of injuring two people, one fatally, in an "unprovoked" attack earlier this week. (KTNV Las Vegas)
  4. The Las Vegas National Horse Show is bringing together the best horses and riders in the country to the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa starting Monday, Nov. 15. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
  5. "Surviving Las Vegas", an upcoming book by Scott Crisci, is the story of one man's journey to beat the odds in America's best-known gambling town. (News3LV)
