Here are the top stories in Las Vegas today:
- The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian in northern Las Vegas Valley. The crash, which happened on I-15 near Lamb Boulevard, closed multiple lanes early Sunday morning. Details on the crash were not immediately released. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
- The phased opening of the new Nevada SPCA location in Las Vegas has begun. After more than 15 years at its previous location, the nonprofit is transitioning to its new home at 5375 Procyon Street, Suite 108, near Allegiant Stadium. The freshly-built facility will be a "welcoming, healthy environment for dogs and cats" and a "friendly destination for prospective adopters, fosters, volunteers, and members of the community," says the organization. - A Sunday morning garage fire on Meadow Rock Avenue, likely caused by "careless smoking," sent one person to the hospital and caused $75,000 in damages, according to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue. (KTNV Las Vegas)
- TikTok sensation Leah Sprecher, known on the platform as "Broadway Barbara," is making her Vegas debut at the Majestic Repertory Theater after successful runs of her show in Los Angeles and New York City. (Broadway World)
