Happy Thursday, people of Las Vegas! Let's start today off on an informed note. Here's everything worth knowing in town today.


First, today's weather:

Here are the top stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. State and federal transportation officials have formally selected a corridor in southern and central Arizona for the construction of Interstate 11, a proposed new freeway that would link the U.S.-Mexico border and Las Vegas. The chosen 2,000-foot corridor stretches 280 miles northward from the U.S. Mexico border to Wickenburg while skirting metro Phoenix's west side. Portions of would use existing freeways, such as I-19 between Tucson and Nogales. A short portion of I-11 has been built near Las Vegas. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
  2. An alarming number of fatal crashes in Clark County involve rented luxury or exotic cars, according to new data from the state. The Department of Traffic Safety determined eight to 12% of fatal crashes in Clark County are at the hands of rented exotic cars. This is an issue specific to Las Vegas with lots of tourists that come into town and want to rent a fast car. (KTVZ.com)
  3. After a soft launch during the fall of 2020, Las Vegas Cannabis Tours has made its grand debut in Sin City. The tours welcome guests 21 years of age and older to experience the ever-expanding legal marijuana industry here in the city. (News3LV)
  4. Las Vegas police say a teenage boy was killed after being hit by a bus on Boulder Highway. According to detectives, the 16-year-old was riding a stand-up electric scooter and crossed into the bus lane before he was hit. (KTNV Las Vegas)
