On Wednesday, the Vegas Golden Knights had their expansion drafting, expanding their roster to 40 players including goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, fresh off helping the Penguins win the Stanley Cup. On Friday and Saturday, they will see the roster grow even more with the NHL's expansion on draft.
And on Thursday, they found who all those players will be going up against. And when.
The season - their first ever - will open Friday, October 6 in Dallas, playing the Stars at American Airlines Arena. The next night they are in Phoenix to play the Coyotes.

They have another seven game home stand in February when they host the Flyers, the Blackhawks, Edmonton, Montreal, the Anaheim Ducks, Calgary, and the Canucks.
Their longest stretch away from home will come at the end of the October with a six-game road trip that takes them to New York for the Islanders and Rangers, Boston, Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal and another six-game stretch starting at the end of January when they visit, Calgary, Winnipeg, Minnesota, Washington, Pittsburgh for the Stanley Cup defending Penguins, and San Jose.
As for the expansion draft on Friday and Saturday, the team has 13 picks including three of each of the first two rounds. General Manager George McPhee has made it clear that he is looking to build the team there.
