🌱 A Houseful Of New, Free Furniture + Remote Control Car Service

Welcome to the Las Vegas Daily, your go-to for updates on what's going down in town.

Good morning, neighbors! Rachel Kilimnik here with your Tuesday issue of the Las Vegas Daily.

First, today's weather:

Warm with clouds and sun. High: 72 Low: 52.

Here are the top stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. For the 28th year, Walker Furniture's "Home for the Holidays" program, is assisting individuals and families in need in Clark County. Walker Furniture is seeking nomination letters from the community through Dec. 6. The search will provide 35 recipients with a houseful of new furniture. Anyone in the community can submit a letter including first responders, teachers, health care professionals, social service workers, clergy, friends, neighbors, and family members. (News3LV)
  2. New Las Vegas car service company Halo uses technology — not physical drivers — to get vehicles to its customers. Halo founder and CEO Anand Nandakumar says the company targets people who might be early technology adopters but aren't yet ready to let a robot take full control. He estimates fully self-driving cars are more than a decade away, and that Halo provides a bridge between then and now. (KNPR)
  3. Jesus Uribe, the 22-year-old man suspected in a deadly gas station robbery, waived his right to a bail hearing on Monday. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
  4. More than one in every 10 seniors in our communities goes hungry on a regular basis. Three Square is raising awareness of the senior hunger rate. (News3LV)
  5. Employees at Pop-A-Lock, a local roadside service company, say they're seeing a big increase in calls across the board this year. AAA says it gets 68-78 calls for flat tires a day in Las Vegas, which is an increase from 2019-2020. (KTNV Las Vegas)
