Health and well-being company Humana invites Las Vegas-area residents to a free open house on June 18, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate the opening of its third Humana neighborhood center. The new center is located in northern Las Vegas at 4830 W. Craig Road (at Decatur); is 6,400 square feet and includes two community rooms; and will serve as a community gathering space.

Open house attendees can:

  • Tour the new center
  • Meet Humana team members
  • Learn about classes and services available to the community
  • Attend cooking and fitness/exercise demonstrations
  • Attend a health fair with local community organizations, including the American Heart Association, American Lung Association, American Legion Post #76, Angel Fire Department, HealthCare Partners Nevada, Humana Pharmacy, Latin Chamber of Commerce, and SilverSneakers.
  • Enjoy live music provided by KJUL-FM.

The open house will include two special events:

  • The announcement of Humana as the new title sponsor of the annual Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon Series with Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to run officially the Boston Marathon 52 years ago.
  • A screening of "The Human Race," a documentary about six runners, ages 50-90, as they train for the biggest race of their lives. Those wishing to attend the screening need to RSVP starting June 3 by calling (725) 726-9112 to reserve a spot as seating is limited.

The new location is open to the community Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's a place to make friends and engage in fun, healthy activities:

  • Humana membership is not required for most activities.
  • The center offers fitness classes, cooking demonstrations, health and wellness seminars, social activities, and more.
  • For Humana Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement members, SilverSneakers classes are offered to encourage physical fitness and social interaction.
  • A Humana employee is available at the location every day to help with claims questions and provide customer service assistance (for example, getting a new ID card); to discuss Humana's Medicare health plans and prescription drug plans; and to discuss dental, vision, and other specialty products for any individual.

Humana's other two locations are in Henderson and Summerlin. In 2018, combined, these two locations:
