Here are the top stories today in Las Vegas:
- Imagine Dragons raised $2.6 million at the Tyler Robinson Foundation's Rise Up Gala. Robinson's death from a brain tumor in March 2013 was the inspiration for the gala and this year, which landed on the anniversary that Imagine Dragons band members met Tyler. The band invited a 12-year-old singer to join them for an acoustic performance of "Radioactive."(Las Vegas Review-Journal)
- On Saturday, 11 Picasso artworks were sold for a combined $109 million in Las Vegas at an auction that coincided with the artist's 140th birthday. The artworks included nine paintings and two sculptures. The event had 150 attendees and lasted about 45 minutes. (News3LV)
- The Metro Police has had a role in preparing the new "CSI" cast as the series returns to its Las Vegas roots. (Las Vegas Sun)
- On Saturday, a nonprofit held a donor event in North Las Vegas for a firefighter battling cancer after responding to 9/11. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
- The introduction of a high-speed rail line will provide a faster, more efficient link between Las Vegas and Los Angeles than the I-15 highway. (News3LV)
