Here are the top stories in Las Vegas today:
- The United States plans to ease travel restrictions on all fully vaccinated foreign visitors which will increase travel to Las Vegas. Since more people will be traveling to Vegas, the local economy will reap the rewards. Fortunately for Las Vegas businesses, the benefits come just before the holiday travel season. One business owner said that while they are still busy, business is not the same since international visitors from more than two dozen countries have been restricted. (News3LV)
- According to the list by Florida Atlantic University College of Business, Las Vegas ranks 9th behind Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Spokane, Detroit, Provo, Ogden, Austin and Boise as the nation's top-10 overpriced real estate markets. The analysis was based on historical "open-source data" from sources like Zillow. Regardless if the Las Vegas market is overpriced, or overvalued, realtor David Lee views the current levels as a market correction. Lee says there are also benefits beyond a low cost of living for out-of-state home buyers relocating to Las Vegas. (News3LV)
- Police have arrested Albertt Monterio, 21, in connection to the death of 24-year-old Destiny Jackson, whose body was found in the desert south of the valley on Sept. 11. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
- Authorities rescued an injured mountain bike rider from a trail in the far northwestern Las Vegas Valley on Tuesday afternoon. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
- On Tuesday, the Clark County coroner's office stated that the 46-year-old man who was found dead in a central Las Vegas trash can died of a gunshot wound to the head. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
