International Eats: Las Vegas is the Top City for Sushi in US

Las Vegas might be an international tourist destination which means the local cuisine has lots of influences.

Las Vegas is a tourist destination that is on the travel bucket lists of people across the globe. But for locals, all the iconic landmarks and entertainment options lose their spark and get repetitive very quickly.


Even the all-American food choices can get boring if you don’t break out of your fast food routine from time to time. Luckily, there are countless amazing options when it comes to eating out in our trusty state of Nevada.


While the tourists may love experiencing a McDonald’s Big Mac, there are no limits to the different menu offerings you can find in this region. Any type of international cuisine you can dream up is probably offered somewhere within state borders.

With so many delicious options, it’s hard to make a decision on which restaurant is the best of the best. But according to a recent study by software company WorkWise mapping out the most popular international cuisine in each state across America, the people have spoken.


Mexican food is a true classic in Nevada, along with 33 other US states in the nation. Turns out chips and guac isn’t as original of a dinner plan as you may think. But with dozens of options in restaurants accommodating several different price ranges, Mexican food is a classic for any family.

Mexican is also the perfect international cuisine for a night in if you’re on a budget. From quesadillas to burritos, there are endless recipes you can find that can involve your whole family in your dinner preparations.


If you’re looking for something a little less predictable, opt for a light meal of sushi. It’s not for everyone, but it’s apparently for Las Vegas locals. Sushi is the second most popular international meal in our region.


Sushi can be a real hit or miss, so be sure to do your research before you order takeout. There are some amazing restaurants in the area that create authentic meals and experiences that will definitely make your time worth it. However, sushi is one of those meals that can be extremely challenging to recreate - so unless you’re a self-proclaimed culinary extraordinaire, you may want to leave this one to the experts.


When it comes to sushi, it’s beloved by the local population for the region. This study deemed Las Vegas the top city for sushi restaurants, with the most options based on population size. Vegas is no small city, so this is a large accomplishment. All that’s to say is if you haven’t found a sushi place you love yet, you probably haven’t looked hard enough.


Even if you’re not a sushi fan, it’s important to explore outside of your taste buds’ comfort zone every once in a while. Even if it’s just attempting a new recipe or two, there are so many versatile meal options to explore.


Food is a life hack to traveling, you can feel like you’re exploring the globe without the hefty travel expenses of transportation and lodging. Grab a French meal and go eat it by the mini Eiffel tower and you’ll be essentially teleported to Paris without ever leaving Sin City.

Once you start trying new international cuisines, you’ll never want to stop until you try everything!
