Junior Achievement Raffle Winner Gifts Prizes to Women in his Life

Golden Ticket Raffle proceeds benefit the financial literacy nonprofit and provide winner Nate Lloyd with fabulous prizes to share.

Nate Lloyd bought five $100 Golden Ticket Raffle tickets for the women in his life for Mother’s Day. He told them they would split the many items in the winner-take-all package if any of the tickets were drawn. With prizes valued at more than $14,000, it was a generous gesture and also allowed him to support Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada, of which he is co-vice chairperson on the financial literacy nonprofit’s board of directors.

During a Facebook Live event, one of Nate’s tickets was drawn, making winners of his wife, mother, mother-in-law, ex-wife and former mother-in-law. Coincidentally, one of the winners, Jamie Lloyd, is a Clark County School District special education teacher and has first-hand knowledge of Junior Achievement’s impact, having taught JA Our Community lessons to second graders.

Jamie shared that her class looked forward to the Junior Achievement lessons from a member of our Air Force each day for a week. “My diverse group of learners all found the curriculum engaging and were particularly interested in learning how to earn money through entrepreneurship while running a donut shop. The hands-on lessons were a fantastic way to expose my students to financial literacy while meeting educational standards,” she said.

“The Golden Ticket Raffle provided a great way for me to show the women in my life and Junior Achievement how meaningful they are to me,” said Nate. “Investing in our students now to prepare them for the ‘business of life’ and inspiring and empowering these future leaders and entrepreneurs is a core part of Junior Achievement’s mission. This is vital in making our community stronger, and I’m proud to be on the Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada board.”

The Golden Ticket Raffle winner-take-all prize included a variety of sports, vacation and entertainment packages and other items donated by generous companies and supporters. Ticket sales raised needed funds for the nonprofit’s valuable financial education, workforce development and entrepreneurship programs for local K-12 students.

“We are so fortunate to have Nate on our board, and we couldn’t be happier that he was our Golden Ticket winner,” said Will Abbott, JASN director of development. “Nate – and everyone on our board – contributes so much to us. Nate even donated the Aviators baseball package for the raffle and decided to gift it to our Junior Achievement team. Because of his generosity, so many people have been touched by this year’s raffle.”

A man of his word, Nate gave all the Golden Ticket prizes, with the exception of the Aviators package, to the women in his life. The items included:

· Top Golf outing for 12 people

· Wynn Resorts vacation package

· A seven day/six-night stay at Kahana Beach Resort in Maui, Hawaii

· Caesars Entertainment vacation package

· Newport Beach, Calif. vacation package
