Las Vegas Chinatown Honors 20 Local Creators at Inaugural Awards Reception

Las Vegas Chinatown came together Thursday, August 27, for the inaugural Chinatown Creator Awards, a private reception recognizing 20 content creators whose work has helped bring the neighborhood’s restaurants, businesses, people and stories to a wider audience.

Held at COYA Living, the evening brought creators together with chefs, restaurant owners and community supporters from across the Spring Mountain Road corridor. Writer, film director and City Cast correspondent Jason Harris served as emcee as honorees received custom Chinatown Creator Award plaques.

The creators were originally introduced through ChinatownVegas.com’s weekly “This Week in Chinatown” series in May. Their work includes restaurant discoveries, opening-day coverage, photography, interviews, video and everyday storytelling from across the neighborhood.

The reception also drew extensive support from Chinatown’s culinary community. Participating businesses included Sparrow + Wolf, Lamaii, Aroma Latin American Cocina, Shanghai Taste, Double Zero Pie & Pub, China Mama, O.Onigiri, Noodlehead, Yo, Mochi!, Moignet Café, Milk Bread and The Alchemist Bar & Restaurant.

Several chefs created dishes specifically for the occasion, while Double Zero debuted its new New York–style pizza. The gathering took place one day after Sparrow + Wolf and Lamaii received MICHELIN Guide recommendations, adding another reason for the neighborhood to celebrate.

Las Vegas Chinatown now attracts an estimated 23.9 million visits annually and is home to 248 verified sit-down restaurants. The creators recognized at the reception have become an important part of how those businesses reach new customers and how the neighborhood presents itself to Las Vegas and beyond.

Most importantly, the evening allowed Chinatown to thank the people who continue telling its story.
